Roxbury Kitchen Tour planned for Saturday, November 11

Ever wonder what it’s like to cook and work in a dream kitchen?  Here’s your chance to find out.

On Saturday November 11, a tour of six private kitchen hosted by the Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury (23 South Street) will be available for public viewing for the first time.  The kitchens were designed by their accomplished cooks to help make cooking – and clean up - easy and fun.  All have wonderful views and provide a comfortable space for family and friends to gather.  Whether a 1700s farm house or a 1800s barn complex, a traditional two-story or contemporary ranch, these kitchens reflect their owners’ personalities and interests. One highlight of the tour is the recently renovated former home of the award-winning novelist William Styron.

The self-guided tour begins at 11 AM at the Library with free coffee and refreshments.  The tour continues until 3:30 PM with a return to the Library for a complimentary champagne reception ending at 4:30 PM.  A raffle of items generously donated by local businesses and a cookbook sale will add to the fun.

Tickets are $45 in advance of the tour, $50 on the day.  Tickets may be purchased from the website MinorMemorialLibrary.org or in person during Library hours. Proceeds from this fundraising tour will benefit the improvement of the Library’s Community Studio.  The Connecticut Community Foundation is the tour sponsor.
